Elmbridge Crossroads - caring for carers

Elmbridge Crossroads – Caring for Carers, established in 1990, is a charity providing help to those caring for a dependant relative or friend living in the home, by making available the services of a trained carer support worker. The CSW assists with the care of the person with the disability, while the regular carer takes a break.

Crossroads seeks to improve the lives of carers by giving them time to be themselves and enjoy a break from their caring responsibilities.

Elmbridge Crossroads is affiliated to
Crossroads Association, established in 1974. To read more about Crossroads and its services click on the link above.

Carers Week will

  • recognise and celebrate the contribution made by carers
  • reach out to 'hidden' carers in every community; ensuring they know where to find support
  • promote policies and practices that can improve the quality of life for carers

FUNDRAISING - CAN YOU HELP?

Elmbridge Crossroads exists to provide much-needed help to carers, but as a charity this important work can be carried out only with the dedicated support of fundraisers.

Can you help us to help those hard-pressed carers?

We need people to raise those crucial funds for us. If you think you can assist in this worthwhile activity, in no matter how small a way, please contact Lesley Blythe on 01372-469942 or e-mail elmxroads.lesley@tiscali.co.uk

ANYTHING YOU CAN DO WILL HELP!

I am just like you; Elmbridge Crossroads have given me my life back. Crossroads sent in carer support workers to help me with my severely disabled son to allow me to have some time for ‘me’.

I am sadly not in a position to donate money as I am a mum on my own, but that does not mean I can’t and shouldn’t help.I know if you enjoy using the service as much as me you will be happy to help.

I am putting together a fundraising group to ensure we can give something back to this fantastic organisation – to enable us to say thank you.

This may involve helping with ideas, running stalls, and selling raffle tickets –

Even just letting me use your story for fundraising purposes will help.

Please contact Elmbridge Crossroads on 01372-469942 or e-mail elmxroads.kim@tiscali.co.uk , I will contact you directly and we can get started together and give something back to Elmbridge Crossroads – who give us so much.

Thank you for helping!

Jo Hudgell

Don’t be afraid to include your details – you will only be asked to help in a capacity you are comfortable with!
